Long Summer Holidays
Jack's gone to Spain for the weekend. He flew yesterday morning and he's coming back on Monday.
2 weeks later he's going to Newquay for 7 days of surfing mayhem with his mates and then straight to London, house and cat-sitting for his auntie before flying out to Spain again for the last half of August.
I have 2.5 days holiday left between now and Christmas.
I'm not bitter or jealous. I just have these simple words of advice for my child.
GET A JOB!!!

Hahahaha!
When they were young and rebellious they could not wait to get out, find a job and be on their own...
Hey Cherry Pie, thank you for your sweet visit. I love seeing those cherries on my blog.
My oldest girl is off to Croatia for a fortnight from tomorrow and the youngest is off to Norway for a fortnight in a couple of weeks. Me? I'm off. That's it.
Just think how far you can go and come back in two and a half days!
Or just take them off to shop for Jack's Christmas presents.
I'm off to Spain soon... Sorry!
He's a jet-setter, that Jack. If I was young and virile, I'd be off to Spain too!
Get a job? Why, when Mum will give me shelter whilst I jog around Europe and sow my wild oats?
bet it's peaceful though isn't it?
I'm sure he would, if only he had time for one! He has the rest of his life to be tied down by his employment (unless this surfing thing pans out, of course!). Sorry about your 2.5 days. We've reached the point that I've Got to find some sort of employment, if we want heating oil next winter (and we Do). In practically a year of not having a job we haven't taken a single trip. Plenty of time, but no money. Ironic, eh?
cp, the good news is that you can get less mature and more impectuous as you get older. and cp, i think you will do exactly that.
but what's with only 3 days off until christmas? What? not ok. weasle some more...
xo
Who needs time off, when you can meet all your mates on the internet?
YEAH GET A JOB!
I had to work every f%$#@#$ summer and today my number 1 son is off to the Lake for a month! HUH!?
Oh well his older sisters once led the life of Riley as well but now they have to stay in the city and work so I reckon his halcyon days will end soon enough...((sigh))
If our bloody summers were not so bloody short it wouldn't be such a big bloody deal...anyway..
I can't get over the image of Happy Jack, whilst babysitting his Aunties grooovy pad in London, dressed up like Austin Powers chasing Birds on Carnaby
..Yeah Baby!!
I don't suppose that you wanted to hear about that.
