Incessant Insomnia
I had a wonderful night's sleep. I was out within seconds of my head hitting the pillow shortly after midnight and I didn't wake up once until Jack kissed me goodbye at 7.30am this morning.
I was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when I answered the door to a delivery man 15 minutes later, oversaw the deposit of a ton of wood, insulation and plasterboard on my front garden and at my desk an hour after that.
20 minutes later Jack passed his driving test.
I will not be sleeping for the foreseeable future.

well done jack!
Congratulations to Jack!
Congratulations to the lad. And it could have been worse - could've been his bike test.
Congrats! Valium helps lol.
HA HA HA!
Letting a child that you have raised take control of the steering wheel is one of the weirdest feelings in Life.
Putting YOUR life in THEIR hands is totally bizarre.
Talk about wanting to live vicariously through your children..if there was ever a better time to actually do it I'd like to know.
Oh well done Jack!
Now you'll know real fear, especially if he gives you a lift anywhere. You'll have to drink copiously just so you don't notice the driving!
Perhaps Jack could drive you around the block until you fall asleep...
or you could try sitting on the clothes dryer, set it on Heavy Tumble, I hear that works too.
*wink wink nudge nudge
Things could be worse.
*waves, pitifully*
It's true that you will never sleep well again, but like the other commenters said, it could be worse. My oldest son 1) took pilot classes at 14, 2) bought a motorcycle at 16, 3) became a Marine at 18. Let's not even talk about my youngest.
HELLO
hello
hello
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?
There is no post,
you are receding.
